（産地の声）vol.1250 ＜暑いといっても自業自得＞ 2016.7.14
おかげさま農場の片岡です。蒸し暑い日が続きますね。畑は過乾燥状態で、畑をやっている身とすれば、雨が思いっきりザーザー降ればいいのにと思っても、なんだか中途半端な天気が続いています。おそらく、今日の雨も土砂降りにはならないので、晴れたら1日で乾いてしまうのでしょうね。
昔は夏には3日に1回は夕立が来たと言いますが、この数年は毎年「こんな暑い夏は初めてだ」「雨が降らねぇな～」という言葉を聞いてばかりです。千葉県は夏は干ばつになるのは当たり前で、水が無ければ夏の野菜はなかなか作れない地域になってしまいました。また、地球温暖化が騒がれて久しいですが、私たちの生活がそうさせているのですから、仕方ありません。
日本は地球の裏側のブラジルなどから鶏肉や大豆を買いあさっています。その輸送だけで膨大な燃料を使いますが、穀物や家畜を育てるのに使われるその土地の膨大な水も日本が使ってしまっていることになります。地球全体では水不足にはなりえないといいますが、局所的には豪雨のところがある一方で砂漠化が進んでいます。世界の人口の３分の１がサバンナのような乾燥地帯に人が住んでいるそうで、そういった乾燥地帯では日本のように森林は育ちませんが多少の草木は生えます。日本では１００年に１ｃｍ～３㎝の土が出来るという学者がいますが、サバンナ地帯はそうはいきません。表土はわずかしかなく、しかしその表面に生える草花の根っこが水分を蓄えて乾燥から防いできました。そこに先進国の大資本が入り、地平線の先まで見える大農場を作ります。水は地下水をくみ上げ、数年経つと表土は無くなり畑が出来なくなると、その土地は捨てられます。こうした土地が砂漠にどんどん変わっていっています。
今の小学校にはエアコンが入っているのですが、私たちの子供の頃とは環境が違うのだから仕方がありません。全ては今の大人の私たちの生活が招いたわけですから。ちなみに日本人の平均的生活水準を全世界の人が行うには地球は２つ必要なんだそうです。つまり、私たちの生活は既に地球を破綻させるレベルなんだそうです。
地球温暖化を招いたのも私たち先進国と言われる国々の国民の生活のせい。だから雨が降らなかったり猛暑が続くのは自業自得なんでしょうが、私たちが年老いた頃、罪のない子供や孫に今以上に住みにくい環境で暮らすことを強いるわけです。「今の大人は子供たちのクレジットカードを使って暮らしている」という言葉を聞いた時、なるほどな～と思いました。今から戦前のような生活は出来ませんが、出来る限り節制、節約、自然に則った生活を送りたいものですね。

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Ie.
